Recent/repeated Visits.

What upppp. This is the page that is straight up food galore from places that I’ve fallen in love with and can’t help returning to repeatedly. A.k.a this is the page for Melody’s coveted favorites as well as the places that are always good to try but not necessarily favorites.

June 20, 2015: The Good Earth Cafe

This cafe is charming and relaxed, and the food is solid (the French toast is melt-in-your-mouth). Plus meals come with bottomless coffee refills! But it’s nothing unique or anything–simply good old comfort fare.

Townshend Tea’s famous creme de la earl grey  tea–perfected with a dollop of cream and sugar.

This time I went for the pork hash–scrumptious, smoky flavor and followed by a legit biscuit that is bursting with cheese and onion flavor.

June 22, 2015: Ava Roasteria

I‘m particular about my coffee, and Ava’s is all right. I’ll admit that it’s better than Starbucks, and I judged this based on Ava’s iced latte (to which I added a dash of cinnamon, the way I like it!) There’s a nice strong flavor that’s not too bitter, and the coffee shop is quiet. Perfect for cranking out blog posts. Alas, still a little pricey for the quality I’m getting.

June 25, 2015: Bowl & Berry

This healthy destination opened recently in Bethany Village, but I’ve had better at other juice bars (like Moberi). Still expensive as always. But if I’m getting a health boost and fruit, I shouldn’t complain. They serve bowls, smoothies, and juices!

Behold the Wholly Green smoothie: kale, spinach, apple juice, bananas, and honey.

June 29, 2015: Cafe Voila

This cafe is located just across the street from the SW Alder food carts–and it doesn’t look as attractive or appealing, but the quality of noms is pretty good. Folks at Cafe Voila use local, sustainable ingredients and change the menu regularly. So things are always kept interesting and you know that what you’re ingesting didn’t come from some genetically modified/polluted source.

Smoked salmon salad: butterleaf lettuce, spinach, slender chunks of smoked salmon, candied almonds, and pickled celery all tossed with grapefruit slices and a sweet and sour grapefruit vinaigrette. Only downside was way too much dressing for my taste. But the combination of smoked salmon and the acidity from the grapefruit was refreshing.
